Green Motion Paddington:

Wish I'd done my research as reading review now, I see Green Motion are very very well know for dishonest practices and dissatisfied customers - but my experience was as follows.

This company lures customers in with initially attractive rates, but then invents spurious damage claims which more than wipe out any benefit from these rates. I came to collect the car and it wasn't ready, wasn't the car I'd asked for, and wasn't cleaned. After waiting I was eventually taken down and quickly shown round the car - and as I would with any other hire had a look for any obvious damage, but was difficult to do given the car was dirty.

When I returned far from the cursory glance the car was given when issued to me - it was now like something from CSI with the staff going round every inch and surprise surprise identifying a tiny, trivial mark on the alloy that I wouldn't even have listed has I spotted it (which as I said was hindered by how filthy the alloy was).

The attitude of the staff was also quite breathtaking - the guy was dressed in tracksuit, completely scruffy, totally unprofessional and quite intimidating - raising his tone and shouting about this scratch. He told me if I complained he'd clean the car and "was sure he'd find more damage".

In the interest of severing my relationship with this cowboy company I paid the damage fee but will never go near them again - they have no interest in repeat custom just in screwing you over and moving on to the next unfortunate sap who falls for their ploy. Pay a bit more and go ANYWHERE else - nothing more than organised fraud.

Monetary Loss: $180.

Hey I work for a hire company which is very well known and I am a returns agent I hear the same old storeys I didn't do it blah blah u know its very easy to damage cars I've saw a car that a customer had taken out and checked it with him when he returned two days later the front tyre sidewall was ripped he started arguing I didn't do it had to laugh like I charged him 146 pound for a continental tyre u know the customer comes off with the same old *** also he said who would think to check tyres like duh check the vehicle before u go means the tyres and wheels to its health and saftey *** sake common sense

Same here. Windscreen was dirty when car was collected.

So was the interior.

For all I know the scratch was already there. Agree that they are most unprofessional.

Yes I had the same issue and I was accused of putting a scratch on the front left bumper. I know I didn't.

If I did fair enough, I will pay for it. However they blocked the entire 750 GBP from my credit card. They wrote to say that the repair will cost 180 GBP and that they will refund the difference. However, they do not reply to emails.

Since Marc Lee is the business owner, he is also the name on the customer service email, so its all up to him.

Please everyone do not rent from this company. No matter how hard you check before taking the car out, they will find some damage when you return.
