I felt involved in a TOURIST TRAP! After booking my car for 15 euros, I print my reservation and read on the paper the documents that I would need. It says "passport, driver's license and credit card". The usual for a car hire. When I get at the Green Motion office, after waiting around 10 minutes just to get the form, I read on it a part from these mentioned documents, and it says I need a bank statement or similar in order to prove my address.... I won't bore you with the details but they are thieves. Their cars are rubbish. Our car had warning lights on, the bumper was hanging off, the interior was ripped, the car had done 150,000 miles and it looked like they were very hard miles! The biggest insult is that they tried to take our huge £2500 deposit several days after we got home without authorisation. The car was returned full up with petrol and with no further damage! I've been told I damaged the car I am super disappointed with this rental, don't fall for the low price. I received a fairly new car with 13000 km, yet it been used. they found some invisible scratches by the front wheel(!) that probably was caused while I drove on an under construction road (had no other way and it wasn't shut), Or it might have been there even before I took the car - the only proof of this scratch nonexistence before I took... Lesson for all: AVOID this Green Motion care hire at all costs. Here we experienced the worst customer service in 20 years working with car hire companies. They unethically force-sold insurance which was not required. When I complained about their unethical and disgraceful conduct they left a woman and 90 year old grandmother without transportation. Rude, pushy, unprofessional, small office inside Hilton hotel, rents out of back of van in car park, lots of extras added at rental and at pickup they took £204 off my card deposit for a scuff mark on one wheel, which was impossible for me to have caused. I got quote for,the alleged damage and The maximum this would cost to repair is £50. It appears they try and make extra money by charging customers for minor damage at high prices. I am still... I am very disappointed. This reservation was made (and paid) in July. I had to be in Cambridge for my brothers surprise 50th birthday. It is therefore unacceptable that two hours after my booking was due to start there was no vehicle. I am appalled at the staff attitude of 'sorry we don't have any cars' and that they said 'it is always like this on a Saturday'. Im sorry but I did my part and booked and paid early. The worst car rental experience I have every had. Possibly the worst customer service I have ever had. The main complaint is a very dodgy damage policy (London Luton). A number of tiny marks/dents were found on return. I cannot possibly have caused them all (I doubt I caused any), but I cannot prove weren't there originally because the car was so dirty on arrival. I was charged >500GBP for repairs. The staff were kurt to the point of rudeness.... Read more

Renters be aware! Terrible service, arrogant employees, charge non-existent damage and blame everything on the legislation of the country(!), end of discussion. Never again!

I rented a car from Green Motion Edinburgh Airport in May. It had a 1.5mm stretch on the windshield and they changed me for GBP 96.00 for the "damage". In fact, they did not show me any clauses (and there were nothing at the back of the contract) during the course of the rental until when I returned my car.
